Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar

- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cake moist yeast, or dry yeast
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3 cups flour, plus more for kneading/shaping
Instructions
- Mix in saucepan: milk, sugar, salt, and shortening.
- Scald mixture and cool.
- Add yeast and beaten egg.
- Stir in 3 cups flour. Cover and let rise until double.
- With a little flour on fingers, make into rolls or cut with biscuit cutter.
- Let rise.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
